This Week In Presidential Politics.....My View!

The polls are ALL OVER THE PLACE! The fact is there are probably, at this point, at least 60% of the GOP electorate who are either undecided, or hanging on to a candidate with the possible defection to another.....

The REAL decision will be made next year early on when the primaries begin. Until then it is all a ritual dance.

As for me....I think the problem is one of where the actual voters will land.....2 schools of thought.... The revolt of the voters will continue, giving the Trump/Carson/et al folks the edge and the potential nomination; or, the voters will slowly decide they have been infatuated quite enough with the "new kids on the block", and the Rubio/Bush/Cruz/etc. experienced pols will float to the surface.

For my part, whether based upon fact or fiction, I truly believe the voters are completely in opposition to the long-term pols, and ready to g with a "newbie".....and my choice, away from the shrill Trump idiocy, is Carson....the "new Reagan" for me.

Right or wrong you know I have placed my view out there....

The Old S. 3rd Street of My Youth!

A discussion in a thread among my friends/classmates from my hometown of Pekin, IL involved homes built by Howard Brooking. I explained that he had, indeed, built (at least) 4 homes and a small store-type building in the 800 block of S. 3rd St. I lived at 803 from before 1st grade until the end of my Junior year at PCHS.

To help familiarize those who would like to know....here is a Goggle space pic of the area. My house is noted by the red pin. Those four in a row were built by Howard, who had a concrete  block plant about where the brown-roofed building is now located behind the four homes. I'm sure the original building collapsed long ago as several of us in the neighborhood managed to fall through the old roof in night ventures atop it.

Back then there were two tracks, one now appears mostly gone. Many would recognize Oedewaldt's 66 Station building just at the upper right, 1st building after S. 3rd St. jogs at Winter. The old store/church stood right where Park Avenue ends at S. 3rd....now a swirl of loose dirt in this picture.Some of the residents within a block of my home included the Jacksons, Stevens family, Gary Hein, Randy Frazier, The Jansen family, the Long family, the Liming family, and the Didinatos.

Gary Hein and I built a tree house high up in a tree where one (perhaps the same one) stands now by the tracks at the corner of the brown-roofed building with what appears to be boats under it.

Lots of years and memories in that picture area!

Can You Recall????

1. Any President in the last 50 years (the limit of my involvement in politics) who has ever made judgmental "shoot from the hip" statements about such things as blaming a gay black man's assassination of two white professionals and the shooting of a third white upon "lack of gun control"...right after he had blamed the death of a black man who was committing a crime on the fact of his blackness?

2. Any President in the past 50 years (ditto) who has lied more openly, more often than this President?  (Think: "you can keep your doctor....your hospital, etc....")

3. Any President in the last 50 years who has done so much to delete the gains of racial equality, while proclaiming loudly his efforts to be a great conjoiner of the races????

Yeah, well, me neither!!!!!

Americans.....YOU are in danger!!!!

That is not an absurd statement! That is an objective look at the current situation, and legal possibilities of this current Uber-Liberal SCOTUS.......

Pervasive Fear!

I am one who follows the events, and finds that the problem is too many who feel the Govt. is an answer, and even more who feel they no longer have any form of responsibility for their actions.

Government answers all.........Folks.....GET A GRIP!!!!!

WE are the govt. (or should be), and, we should shoulder responsibility for US!!!!

But many do not....they want Govt. (US) to provide! There is an end to other people's money folks. The Liberals of this world do not see that in spite of France/Greece/etc.

Sadness covers me!

Everyone has a cause, and they are rabid about it....

Irate people are everywhere.....even those who "Win" for their cause are vindictive. The current theme seems to be "extract vengeance", even after winning....I find it everywhere.....

John Boehner, GOP leader in the House of the U. S. Congress.....will allow no independence within his ranks, and any who oppose him on a vote will be removed from prestigious positions; chairmanship, etc.

Those who win in a ruling from our Supreme Court....be it on ObamaCare or Gay Marriage, are not satisfied with winning....no, they want to extract a certain amount of vengeance......so I am vindicated, allow me to castigate you!

Sad, very, very sad.

This is America......WE ARE NOT ENEMIES!!!!! We are Americans 1st, and we seek to make our house the house of our freedoms, and our rights.

Washington Removed!

George Washington, formerly known as The Father of Our Country is hereby officially removed from that title, He was, (Shudder, shake) after all, a slave owner. As we need to have a founding father we will now substitute in his place Martha Washington....his wife whom we have it on good authority actually more-than-once cut off George's bed-privileges after finding him "being friendly with the employees".....

In addition Martha will proudly take her place on our $1 bill.....The Washington Monument will get a new statue of her, and even Washington, D.C. will henceforth be known as Marthaston! 

OK! I've Had It With Food Supply Problems.....

Every day a new headline to scare you out of eating something (hummmm, wonder why none of this has helped reduce my weight?).

I'm gonna move to the country, preferably the hills of N. Georgia, or N. Carolina......Small place with 4-5 acres, a small barn. Pens for my own chickens to lay eggs and provide sustenance. A cow or two to provide fresh milk, and eventually naturally-produced beef. Add a couple BIG dogs to protect my turf from marauding animals.

Now, to find a couple farm-oriented folk to handle all this (WHAT?, me milk, slaughter, etc-????). Oh, and with my budget they need to work free for a place to live and joining in the food use....

OK, well, I'll just be a bit more selective in what I consume!
